Distance-learning course (Olha Vyhovska)

Due to the actual coverage of the distance learning course, the audience will become acquainted with the main social and political threats and challenges facing humanity. The module is EU-oriented, so all subjects are taught in terms of European approaches to addressing these issues, taking into account Ukrainian realities and opportunities that force third-level (educational) scholars to analyze, develop proposals and make recommendations to relevant government agencies.

Formation of an “image of the enemy” in a conflict. Techniques and technologies of social conflict management. Post-conflict syndrome. State legal conflicts. Ethno-territorial conflicts. Ethnographic conflicts. Socio-psychological conflicts. Global conflicts of today’s world.

Theme 1. National, global and regional dimension of security.

         The first theme of the module will be devoted to the consideration of political aspects of national security in the context of contemporary international relations. Particular attention will be paid to the structural and functional characteristics and elements of national security as a factor of state and social development.The issues of the international dimension of national security will also be considered.

         Particular attention will be paid to the concept of the information component of national security and global security in general, the processes of globalization and integration of the concept of information security in the 21st century, the formation and implementation of information society theory and practice into life of the world and national communities.

 Theme 1. Idea of Europe at the Public Level.

  1. The idea of ​​Europe and its emancipatory orientation.

This thematic block provides analysis of  the meanings of the idea of ​​Europe, which is able to serve as a guide for social development –  freedom, equality, solidarity, intrinsic value of a man, democracy, supremacy of law and others. The specificity of adapting the semantic core of the idea of ​​Europe at the macro level to the traditions of national societies seeking to achieve prosperity is investigated.

The orientation function of the idea of ​​Europe at the micro level is to determine the personality traits of a European who subordinates his creative life to European values, rules and norms of behaviour.

It reveals the idea of ​​Europe and modern Europe – realities and prospects and depicts the issues of implementation of the idea of ​​Europe in the strategies of sustainable development of European countries.

 

Content module № 2 (Liakh Tetiana)

In the course of studying the content module “Values, Culture, Politics: Europe and Beyond” within the theme “Values ​​of Contemporary European Political Culture”, the participants will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the leading values ​​of contemporary European political culture, to analyze EU actions on building inter-ethnic dialogue and dialogue equality and tolerance. Particular emphasis will be placed on building intercultural communication and its impact as a factor in shaping the intercultural tolerance of Europeans. The course will also outline the basic principles of intercultural communication and the foundations of psychological readiness for inter-ethnic communication.

Topic 1. Civilizational in a global era

Within this topic the issues of formation, development and functioning of the global society, advantages and disadvantages, main factors, principles and mechanisms of interstate cooperation on conditions of globalized world are highlighted. It is suggested to evaluate the role of multinational corporations as powerful actors of international relations, to evaluate the role of economic processes in the development of any state and the overall world agenda.
